| Getting more air than is metered/accounted for Sounds more like an O2 sensor issue. Do you have any ECU talk /diagnostic programs? Even the cheapest programs have a 'scope' feature that makes sensor diagnostics much easier. For instance here is a picture of when my NA O2 sensor was bad (about 3 years ago) 
You can see LH running sinusoidal like it should, RH is flatlined. Here is a picture of my failed O2 sensor. The tip was broken causing erratic readings.
